im a complete novice!!! but after much courage from mates etc finally wanted to get my arse onto a bike, always wanted to ever since i saw my bro pull up on my drive when i was ickle with a suzuki gsx-r600s and straight away feel in love!!!!
i aways been involved in the car scene promoting car clubs across the country at different race tracks including silverston, snetterton, brands hatch, lydden hill and santa pod, but now feel i need a change from 4 wheels to 2.
buttttt can any one help me...i honestly dont have a clue where to begin....im still learning to drive a car after stopping a few years back and now got back into it...sooo if any one could help me with a few beginner points etc much will be appriciated

Well congrats on wanting to go to 2 wheels! I would contact either Nigel or Simon at Norton and talk it through with them. Perhaps you can pop down and watch a CBT at the training ground, to see what is required.
Then you could take the CBT (you can ride 125 with L Plates) and take it from there. If you are comfortable this could potentially lead you onto taking your full license for, in my opinion, the more fun bikes.........
But I am a rider and not an instruuctor, but perhaps a good place to start!

Might Have To Take You Up On That!!!
Always Wanted To Feel The Freedom Of It After Having To Be The Stand By Watchers Of Seeing My Mates On Them But Never Had The Guts To Personally Do It Myself....Even Tho I Have Only Just Turned 19!!!
But Yeahhh Would Deffo Want To Go See A CBT See Whats Its All About And What I Would Be Getting Myself Involved In!!
Just Wondering Might Be A Stupid Question.....But When I First Started To Learn To Drive I Had No Experience Of The Road What So Ever...But One My First Lesson, I Got Put Behind The Wheel And Straight Away Picked Up The Gear Changes With Only Stalling 1 or 2 Times In A 2 Hour Lesson.....Do You Reckon I Would Pick Up Riding A Bike The Same Way????
Sorry It Sounds Stupid!!! __________________ Im Blondie But Not Blonde!!!!! |

Reply with quote | #4 | Hi Blondie,
The main thing is to get your CBT done and go from there, click here http://www.nortonmotorcycletraining.co.uk/cbt.asp and get booked in. They have spaces available next week.
You can then chat to whichever instructor takes you on your CBT and go from there. The CBT is only a one day instruction course and lots of fun also. You'll do fine.
Get it booked, have some time on a bike with the Norton instructors and go forward from there.
Good luck with it

Reply with quote | #5 | Hi Blondie,
The guys got it spot on. Use the form Dan linked above and get started. Best thing I ever done. And in one year have gone from a Varadero 125 to a GPZ500 and now a lovely VFR800.
Also keep a look out for the Muttley rideouts on here once your on two wheels. Very new rider friendly and a good laugh.
Cheers
